A dynamic QR code points to a short redirect link hosted on a server, which then forwards the scanner to your real destination — that's what makes it editable and trackable. A true static QR code skips the redirect entirely: your URL, WiFi credentials, or contact details are encoded directly into the black-and-white pattern. Scan it, and a phone reads that data straight off the pattern — no server involved, no lookup, no tracking, and no dependency on any company staying in business.
What you give up: editing and analytics
