PDF menus and price listsReplace the file, keep the code

A QR code for your PDF that you can replace after printing.

Menus, brochures, price lists and spec sheets change. The printed code should not have to. Point a dynamic QR code at your PDF and swap the file whenever you need to.

20 dynamic codes, every feature unlocked, no credit card.

Swap the file, keep the code

Upload the new menu or price list, or point the code at a new link. Every printed code opens the new version.

Opens on any phone

A scan opens the PDF in the phone browser. No app to install and nothing for the customer to sign up for.

See whether it gets used

Every scan is counted with city, device and time, so you know which placement earns its space.

How to set up a PDF code

  1. 1

    Get your PDF online

Use a Google Drive, Dropbox or any direct PDF link. On Pro+ and above you can also upload the file to QR Code Pro instead.

  2. 2

Create a dynamic code of type PDF

Paste the link, add your logo and colours, and choose a frame such as "Scan for the menu".

  3. 3

    Print and place it

Use the code on table cards, flyers, brochures or shelf talkers. Test it with two phones before a big print run.

What to know before you print

  • A link to a PDF you host elsewhere works on every plan, including Pro at R99/month.
  • Hosting the PDF file with QR Code Pro starts on Pro+ (R199/month). The trial includes 10 MB so you can try it, but Pro does not include file hosting.
  • Keep the PDF small. A file under a few MB opens quickly on a mobile connection.
  • Dynamic codes need an active account. If it lapses the printed codes stop redirecting.

Get your PDF code ready

1

Finalise one PDF

Pick the menu, brochure or price list you will print the code on and put it online.

2

Place the code on something real

A table card, a flyer or a counter stand. Real placement tells you whether the code is used.

3

Replace the file when it changes

Update the PDF, not the print. Check your scans after a week.

What to check: scans per placement over the first week, so you know which printed item to reprint with a code.

The trial: 14 days, 20 dynamic codes, every feature unlocked, no credit card.

Then: Pro is R99/month for 50 codes, Pro+ R199/month for 200 and Team R299/month for 500. Unlimited scans on every plan, billed in Rand through PayFast, cancel any time.

If you do nothing: your dynamic codes stop redirecting when the trial ends, so choose a plan before printing a big run.

Questions

1

Can I change the PDF after printing the code?

Yes. A dynamic code redirects to its destination, so you can point it at a new PDF link or upload a replacement, and the printed code does not change.
2

Do I need to host the PDF with QR Code Pro?

No. The PDF code works with a link to any PDF you already host, such as Google Drive or Dropbox. File hosting on QR Code Pro is available from Pro+.
3

Will it work for a restaurant menu?

Yes. A PDF menu is one of the most common uses. See the menu page for how restaurants place codes on tables and at the till.
4

Can I see how many people opened the PDF?

You can see how many people scanned the code, with city, device and time. We count scans, not downloads or reading time.
5

How much does QR Code Pro cost?

There is a 14-day trial with 20 dynamic codes and no credit card. After that Pro is R99/month for 50 codes, Pro+ is R199/month for 200 codes and Team is R299/month for 500 codes. Scans are unlimited on every plan and you pay in Rand through PayFast.
6

What happens when the trial ends?

If you do nothing, your dynamic codes stop redirecting when the 14 days end. Your account is kept for a while so you can come back and choose a plan. Pick a plan before you print a large run.
