Setting Up Your Custom Domain

Use your own brand for every QR code scan. Follow this guide to connect a custom subdomain (like qr.yourbrand.com) to your account.

Choose Your Subdomain

We recommend using a dedicated subdomain for your QR codes. This keeps your main website separate while providing a branded experience for users.

✅ Recommended

  • qr.yourcompany.com
  • link.yourcompany.com
  • scan.yourcompany.com
  • go.yourcompany.com

⚠️ Not Recommended

  • yourcompany.com (Root domain)
  • www.yourcompany.com

Root domains often conflict with your main website hosting.

Add a CNAME Record

Log in to your domain registrar (where you bought your domain, e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare) and find the DNS Settings or DNS Management page.

Add a new record with the following details:

Using Cloudflare?

Make sure the "Proxy status" cloud icon is Orange (Proxied) for best performance, or Grey (DNS Only) if you prefer to manage SSL strictly on our end. Both work!

Verify in Dashboard

Go back to the Domain Settings page in your dashboard.

  1. Enter your full subdomain (e.g., qr.yourcompany.com) in the input field.
  2. Click Save Domain.
  3. Wait for the system to verify the connection.

Note: DNS changes allow up to 48 hours to propagate globally, but typically take effect within 5-10 minutes. If it doesn't work immediately, grab a coffee ☕ and try again in a few minutes.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

It says "Domain not verified"▼
This usually means your DNS records haven't propagated yet. You can check the status of your domain on a site like whatsmydns.net. Select "CNAME" and type your subdomain. If it points to our domain, you just need to wait a bit longer.
My website stopped working!▼
Did you use your root domain (e.g., yourcompany.com) instead of a subdomain? Root domains often conflict with your existing website hosting. Please delete the record and create a subdomain record (like qr) instead.
SSL Certificate Error▼
After you verify your domain, it takes a few moments for us to provision a secure SSL certificate (HTTPS). If you see a security warning, wait 5 minutes and refresh the page. It will resolve automatically.
