The Quick-Start Guide to Professional QR Codes
Creating a QR code is simple, but creating a high-performing QR code requires a few strategic steps. This guide will ensure your first code is ready for professional deployment.
Step 1: Destination & Content Strategy
Before you generate, decide on your goal. Are you driving traffic to a website, a PDF menu, or a social media profile?
- Navigate to the Generator page (
/generate). - Select your QR Type (e.g., URL, vCard, PDF).
- Enter your Destination URL.
Pro Tip: If you are running a marketing campaign, append UTM parameters to your URL (e.g.,
?utm_source=brochure&utm_campaign=summer_promo) to track conversions in Google Analytics along with our internal scan tracking.
Step 2: Visual Customization with AI
A branded QR code can receive up to 40% more scans than a documented black-and-white code.
- Upload Logo: Center your brand icon. Our system ensures it doesn't block the data "eyes".
- Color Harmony: Choose colors that contrast well. Always keep the foreground darker than the background (e.g., Dark Blue on White).
- Call-to-Action (CTA): Use the "Frame" option to add a clear instruction like "Scan for Menu" or "Get Discount".
Step 3: Test & Deploy
Never print a code without testing.
- Scan with an iPhone Camera.
- Scan with an Android Camera (or Google Lens).
- Verify the load speed of your landing page.
- Download in SVG (Vector) for large format print (posters, billboards) or PNG for digital use.
Understanding "Dynamic" Status
Your new code is Dynamic. This means you can:
- Change the destination link after printing.
- Track every scan in real-time.
- Set up password protection if needed.
